Dimensional Inspection Services in China

Verify products against engineering drawings and GD&T tolerances.

Independent dimensional verification using CMM, optical and laser systems to confirm parts meet drawing dimensions, geometric tolerances and assembly fit requirements.

Dimensional Inspection
Service Overview

What this service covers

Dimensional inspection is the foundation of quality control for any precision manufactured component. Our independent dimensional inspection service in China verifies that machined, cast, molded and fabricated parts conform to the dimensions, tolerances and GD&T callouts defined on your engineering drawings — before parts are shipped, assembled or installed at the end customer.

We operate through a vetted network of ISO/IEC 17025-aligned metrology laboratories across Dongguan, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Shanghai and Kunshan, equipped with high-accuracy coordinate measuring machines (CMM), blue-light 3D scanners, laser trackers, vision systems and optical comparators. Every inspection is supervised by an English-speaking engineer who interprets your drawing, plans the measurement strategy, executes the report and defends the results in conformance discussions with your supplier.

The deliverable is a bilingual inspection report that includes the part identification, measurement method, equipment used with calibration traceability, full dimensional data with pass/fail verdict per characteristic, GD&T evaluation, photographs of the setup and — when relevant — color deviation maps from 3D scan-to-CAD comparison. Reports are formatted to match AIAG, VDA or your own customer template on request.

First-Article CMM Inspection of Automotive Bracket
Tier-1 Automotive

First-Article CMM Inspection of Automotive Bracket

Challenge
A European Tier-1 supplier needed independent FAI of 50 GD&T characteristics on a new aluminum bracket before approving a Chinese stamping vendor for serial production.
Approach
Full CMM measurement on a Zeiss bridge CMM with adaptive probing, datum alignment per drawing A|B|C, and AS9102-format report.
Outcome
Identified 3 characteristics drifting toward the limit. Supplier corrected tool offsets before mass production — zero customer rejects in the first 100k parts.
Scan-to-CAD Audit of Injection Mold Cavity
Mold & Tooling

Scan-to-CAD Audit of Injection Mold Cavity

Challenge
Mold-maker delivered tool with cosmetic defects on a Class-A surface; OEM needed proof of geometric conformance.
Approach
Blue-light scan of mold cavity at 0.02 mm point spacing, GOM Inspect color deviation map against master CAD.
Outcome
Localized 0.18 mm hot-spot deviation on a parting surface — quantified, photographed and shared as evidence for warranty negotiation.
Frequently Asked Questions

Dimensional Inspection — what customers ask

What accuracy can you deliver on CMM measurements?+

Our lab CMMs are calibrated to MPE_E ≤ 1.7 + L/350 µm under ISO 10360-2, traceable to NIM (China) and ultimately to the SI metre. For most production parts we report dimensions to 0.001 mm with stated measurement uncertainty.

Do you support AS9102 First Article Inspection reports?+

Yes — we deliver AS9102 Forms 1/2/3 bilingual (English + Chinese) and can match VDA, AIAG PPAP or customer-specific templates on request.

Can you measure large parts up to 2 metres?+

Yes — we have laser trackers, articulated arms and large-volume CMMs (up to 3 × 2 × 1.5 m) in our partner network for big castings, fabrications and assemblies.

How fast can you turn around a dimensional report?+

Standard turnaround is 3–5 working days from sample arrival. Expedited 48-hour service is available for urgent FAI or shipment-hold decisions.
